This Hatched Vase collection below was inspired by the modern trend of knurling. The shapes are simple and geometric, as is the "knurling" motif: a perfect match for organic flowers.
These bracelets were designed to be worn as a set of three. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Just kidding.
Made from hand hammered copper. Unisex.
In the Fall of 2015, I spent 3 months in Kathmandu, Nepal, working at the Association for Craft Producers. During this time I was tasked with designing products that could be made by artisans in rural regions of the country but sold in more upscale housewares distributors in America (namely West Elm).
For my Vine Vase collection, I designed three large vases in copper a leaf motif at the lip and calculated the shape using complimentary angles and proportions. My initial design included only one shade of copper, however the copper producer thought that using both the rough and the shined copper fit in more with his aesthetic.
